Oh dear, I’ve become that blogger that only posts monthly!
Life has become very out of order, and goodness, I have not found a rhythm to my days yet. Therefore, not only are my belongings scattered across our new flat (plus another continent), so are my thoughts.
We moved into our new flat, a ground floor garden flat, on a Wednesday. We spent the following weekend at IKEA making sure we had some basics – beds and mattresses, a kitchen table, a desk, and some dishes and cutlery. The rest, we’re waiting for our Canadian shipments to come through. Alex is having difficulties with our super empty front room, but I’m insisting that it remains empty for my lovely couch from Toronto. Then we spent another weekend on the Isle of Wight visiting family and picking up mail. So this past weekend was our first somewhat relaxed weekend at home in London. And of course, that coincided with the start of the Olympics in London, and our friend Terence visiting. So it’s been a little busy!
I neglected to mention that I’ve also been busy clicking buttons online to get our new place up to par. I’ve ordered lots of goodies from Amazon, from vacuum cleaners to kettles to chia seeds, I’m in love with Amazon.co.uk.
Anyway, back to the desktop wallpaper. This is Moraine Lake just near Lake Louise in Alberta. We were there last year in August with my mom, and so it’s entirely appropriate that I use it now, a year later, to remind me of the fun trip we made to Banff!
