Happy July! I’ve finally made it across the pond to begin my “settlement” in London! The past few days have been full of…nothing, yet they have flown by because of jet-lag. I’ve trekked out to run a few errands to get myself set up, and we also spent the weekend celebrating our first wedding anniversary and then Canada Day in Trafalgar Square.

We’re staying in a temporary holiday rental in Clapham, while waiting to see if our application on a flat will go through (any day now)! I’m missing my 31 boxes of “stuff”, hopefully to be shipped here soon this summer. In the mean time, I’m also busying myself with making lists of things to buy for our more permanent place – a bed would be good! I’ll have more updates as we slowly get settled, but for now, please send happy thoughts that I’ll get a job soon! (This living in London without salary thing I’m doing isn’t cheap!)

I snapped this photo quickly when we were roaming the beach-side streets of Monterosso in March. The colours worked so well together – reminiscent of a place that’s always sunny and warm. I didn’t notice the abandoned phone by the bikes until I was editing the photo – have you spotted it yet?
